Reverse Power Protection of an Alternator

Power plant generators are important components of an electrical energy system. They should be constantly monitored and protected in order to maintain the quality reliability power supply. Otherwise generator may operate incorrectly resulting poor instability during events like faults, equipment failure, reverse flow(RPF) etc., presence large distributed resources is major cause flow low loads/excess generation at distribution level. If (RPF) not resolved, it leads incorrect operation or affect connected devices. Therefore necessary monitor prevent powerflow condition.This paper dealswith reversepower protection, here hardware model representing grid developed using rating permanent magnet motors, sensors, PIC16F877A microcontroller, regulated supply, relay driver, Liquid Crystal display (LCD) relay, protect from RPF.
